Farmers Family Restaurant, Richmond, IN. All you can eat!

Several restaurants in the
Richmond, IN area saw a slow down in business during the recent spate of snowstorms. Hungry diners were just eating at home rather than take a chance on getting out in the deep snow which still lingers.

This has brought about enticing bargain deals which will bring thrifty diners out in any weather. The deals at Farmer’s Family Restaurant, which is an all you can eat buffet, are especially appealing.  So is their spread of foods.

They always have a senior lunch deal for $6.40 for all the good home-style foods you can eat. Now they’ve extended this bargain price to all day on Mondays and you only need to be 55 or above to qualify.

But wait there’s more. From Monday through Thursday Farmer’s has a two for $13.99 deal.  This is available from 4 – 8:30. Drinks are extra but it’s a heck of a bargain compared to two for twenty and other deals available around town.

The food selection includes fried chicken, baked chicken, pulled pork and other meats and the vegetables range from home-style greens and cornbread and beans through Brussels sprouts, boiled cabbage, green beans, lima beans, peas and carrots and more.

The macaroni and cheese looks especially rich with lots of cheese and the sweet potatoes are always tempting.

There’s a soup and salad bar with many choices that please the pallet. Pea salad, slaw and a seafood salad are on there amidst a great variety of salad fixins.

Desert lovers are well taken care of at Farmer’s as well. Cakes, pies, cheese cakes and cobblers are spread to amaze and amuse diners. One side of the dessert island features no-sugar added pies, cheese cake and other delightful treats.  There’s also a get your own soft ice cream dispenser to round out the desert choices.

It’s worth mentioning that on Friday and Saturday nights Farmer’s has carved beef, steaks, boiled shrimp, fried shrimp, crab legs, a seafood medley, frog legs, fried oysters and even deep fried alligator.  If you like tender ribs you’ll enjoy their separated ribs with barbecue sauce. There’s an up charge for steak and crab legs but they’re also available in the all you can eat format.

Venture out to Farmer’s Family Restaurant  at

Richmond, IN. It’s about one-fourth mile west of I-70 exit 156 A at the Ohio-Indiana State Line. It’s a casual dining atmosphere with the wait staff wearing jeans and hurrying around to make sure your dining experience is a good one.
