RVA on Ice. Holiday music. Wednesday-Friday, 4pm – 10 pm; Saturday 10 am – 10 pm; Sunday 10 am – 6 pm. Located between 6th and 7th streets. Organizers have selected classics, animation and family holiday favorite movies for skaters to enjoy on 25 square foot movie screen as they circle the rink. Movies are scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM on specific nights noted below. In addition to the holiday movies, FREE arts and crafts sessions will be offered by Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities’ Office of Cultural Arts Programs on Saturdays Noon – 2 p. m. Participants are also invited to purchase various snacks and beverages including coffee, hot chocolate and ingredients to make s’mores while warming up by the bon fire. Movies include:

The Nutcracker: Choreography by Stoner Winslett with music by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. December 16-26, 2011 – A Richmond tradition! December 16-26, 2011. CORE Kids Academy has plenty of fun holiday activities for kids. Free Babies Class: Try our new Soaring Stars Program for 10-18 month-olds for FREE! Our new Soaring Stars program for children ages 10-18 months combines developmentally appropriate fine and gross motor skills for toddlers, plus core strengthening skills for parents. You will get to bond with your toddler through songs and fun, skill-based activities for both you and baby. You’ll bounce, sing, share your experiences, and grow stronger as individuals and as a family. Try the class for free on any/all of these days: Mon, Dec 19 at 10:30 am; Tues, Dec 20 at 9:15 am. Winter Break Camp: Join us for our 3-hour drop off Winter Break Camp! Your children can get in a great work-out and burn some energy on Tuesday, December 27 and Thursday, December 29 from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. Campers will receive group and individualized gymnastics instruction, play fun fitness games, run through our huge 30-foot inflatable caterpillar obstacle course, and complete a creative craft. Tacky Light Tour begins as Richmond homes light up for the holidays. Houses must have a minimum of 40,000 lights to be on the tacky tour and it’s FREE. Enjoy hilarious and unbelievable fun.
