The Huskies came out and controlled the opening half, outshooting Gonzaga 7-4 and getting three shots on goal. But after 45 minutes, neither team managed to find the back of the net.
That goal was all that Washington keeper Spencer Richey needed, as the senior made seven saves on the evening, good for his 21st career shutout as a Dawg.
Gonzaga outshot the Huskies 14-10, including a 7-4 advantage in shots on goal. Jones led the Huskies with three shots, while Josh Heard also received an assist on the Jacobson goal.
The Huskies return to the pitch on Tuesday night, when they host Santa Clara in the home opener.
