Richard Sherman tipped the football away from Michael Crabtree and into the hands of Malcom Smith, effectively ending the NFC Championship game. This was easily the biggest play of the night because if Crabtree had caught that pass, the win would have gone to the 49ers.
Following the epic game-winning play, Erin Andrews caught up with Sherman and asked him about the game. His response has the internet ablaze and many think that Richard Sherman is completely out of line. Here is what he had to say:
I'm the best corner in the game! When you try me with a sorry receiver like Crabtree, that's the result you're going to get. Don't you ever talk about me. Don't you open your mouth about the best, or I'll shut it for you real quick.
In another interview after the fact, Sherman took another stab at Crabtree, calling him "mediocre at best." The rivalry didn't end there though and Crabtree took a shot back at Richard Sherman in a locker room interview.
Michael Crabtree commended Sherman on the game-winning play but then added that when the game is replayed, people will notice that the final play was the only one that Sherman made all night. Possibly true but it was also pretty apparent that Colin Kaepernick was not throwing the ball anywhere near Sherman prior to that point and now we all know why.
What do you think of Richard Sherman's interview with Erin Andrews? He certainly is a great defensive player and has been called the best in the league. Does that give him the right to call Michael Crabtree out and to speak of himself with such confidence? Watch the video and share your thoughts.
