Super Bowl week is officially underway and Richard Sherman is talking. But the Seattle Seahawks cornerback is not talking trash. According to on Jan. 26, Sherman has nothing but praise for Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas.

As the two are expected to match up during Super Bowl XLVIII, Sherman feels Thomas is one of the top five receivers in the game and both players are looking forward to testing their talents against one another. Sherman told reporters on Sunday:

“I definitely think he’s top five. He put together the type of year and done everything in his power to put himself in that conversation. He’s made big catches, he’s got a lot of run after the catches, he turns some small plays into huge plays, and I think that he’s a great receiver. He’s a great competitor, and I’m sure it’s going to be a fun night for both of us because we’re both intense competitors and good players.”

Richard Sherman is definitely showing more respect to Thomas as a receiver than he did San Francisco 49ers receiver Michael Crabtree who he labeled a “sorry” receiver in his now famous post-game rant that has put most of the spotlight on the star cornerback entering the biggest game of his career.

Thomas isn’t backing down from playing against Sherman either. The Broncos receiver sees a matchup against Sherman as a measuring stick, which shows the ultimate respect towards Sherman.

If the two are indeed matched up during the game, it will definitely be fun to watch. Both players are up for the challenge.
