Richard Sherman has a fan in UFC boss

According to a Jan. 22 report from Yahoo! Sports, UFC President Dana White is a huge fan of Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman fan.

White, the UFC boss since 2001, loved every second of Sherman's epic interview with Erin Andrews after the Seahawks' NFC championship win over the San Francisco 49ers last weekend.

Sherman, 25, took plenty of heat from sports fans for his taunting, but at least the UFC boss enjoyed it.

"And as far as the Richard Sherman thing goes, that was awesome! The guy has probably been playing football since he was eight years old, dreamed about going to the Super Bowl and goes head-to-head against the guy who was trash talking him," White said. "And he pulls off, in my opinion, the best play of the game to send his team to the Super Bowl - that was a touchdown pass.

"He was fired up, got on TV and let everyone know about it. I wish the Patriots were that fired up that day."

White also explained his feelings on Ronda Rousey's handshake snub of Miesha Tate at UFC 168.

The UFC boss saw nothing wrong with Rousey's actions because he knows she was just being herself and keeping it real.

"That was her own decision. It's not about being an ungracious winner...Ronda said it best. She said, 'I didn't like her before the fight, I definitely don't like her after the fight, and nobody is going to boo me into shaking her hand.' Period," White explained. "End of story...Ronda is mean and nasty, that's who she is. And she couldn't care less what anyone thinks."

Sherman and Rousey are similar in that they are both outspoken athletes in the media.

Some love it and others hate it, but it's hard to argue that they are anything but must-see television.

Sherman is set to take part in Super Bowl XLVIII, as his Seahawks take on the Denver Broncos.

Up next for Rousey is Sara McMann in the headliner of UFC 170.
