Richard Sherman is the best cornerback in the NFL, in his mind anyways, and he wants everyone to know it.
Sherman is one of the biggest trash talkers in the NFL, but in his defense, he backs up his words with his play on the field. Heck, being a Lions fan, I wish he was on Detroit.
The Seattle star DB made the play of game in the NFC championship when he broke up a last second pass attempt thrown to Michael Crabtree in the end zone that linebacker Malcolm Smith intercepted after Sherman tipped the ball into the air as he was trailing the play.
However Sherman is getting a lot of media attention today not for the great play, but his reaction after the game.
Fox's Erin Andrews got him on the field right after the game ended for an interview and asked him about the play.
"I'm the best corner in the game!" Sherman yelled. "When you try me with a sorry receiver like Crabtree, that's what you're going to get. Don't you ever talk about me!"
Andrews, seemingly shocked and a little put off, asked who was talking about him.
"Crabtree," Sherman said. "Don't you open your mouth about the best. Or I'm going to shut it for you real quick!"
Sherman's reaction was a bit more jubilant than Mr. T's pre-fight speech in the movie "Rocky III," but a Sherman vs. "Clubber Lang" (Mr. T's character) 15 round match could be a good one.
Sherman and the Seahawks will face the Broncos on Feb. 2 in Super Bowl 48.
