Ricco Barrino is returning to music with the announcement of a new album and tour. It's been five years since Barrino ended his relationship with Grand Hustle Records and now he is making waves on his own. According to a Thursday press release from Nati Celebrity Services, Ricco will be heading out on tour soon with Jazmine Sullivan and Anthony Hamilton.
Ricco's describes his music as "a gumbo of new school and old school music with aggressive word play using old school melodies to formulate what I call Rock Soul." Some have compared his sound to that of Miguel and Frank Ocean. It seems that elite musical talent runs in the family because he also happens to be the brother of "American Idol" winner Fantasia Barrino.
The spotlight turned back to Ricco Barrino in March 2014 with the release of his EP "From The Club To The Crib." The single "No Panties" has been gaining him much attention. This newest release comes after a 2012 mixtape hit "Twenty 12 Play" that was hosted by DJ E-Sudd and a 2013 release "Music Evolution" hosted by DJ Chuck.
Ricco Barrino has also made appearances on tracks like T.I.'s "Porn Star" and B.o.B.'s "5th Dimension." As if he isn't busy enough, Barrino has written songs for talented artists including his sister Fantasia, Missy Elliot, Trey Songz, Day 26, R Kelly and Angie Stone.
