Ribbon Cutting for Cops Care Libraries

The St. Louis Police Department and local community leaders held a ribbon cutting ceremony in South St. Louis for the Cops Care Libraries on Wednesday December 4th, 2013. The program is meant to provide positive interaction with youth as well as reduce crimes. People are free to donate books for kids to read. Chief Dodson said that people are still reading books in the age of technology.

The Police Department handed out a fact sheet informing of 5 spots, one of which was the spot of the ribbon cutting ceremony, that are participants of Cops Care Libraries program. The other 4 are:

  • Mt. Pleasant Park off Virginia at Dakota and Michigan
  • Minnie Wood Park at Meramec
  • Ohio, Marquette Park at S. Compton
  • Amberg Park.
