RibbedTee has made a number of appearances in this here column over the years. Part of this is due to the fact that the company’s founder, Mike Schwarz is downright passionate about the products his company makes, and the other part is because those products are consistently good, of the highest quality, and they are made in America. Recently, RibbedTee ventured into sock territory with their DressWear Compression Socks, and soon they’ll be making real live underpants.
While some of the details concerning this new product are not entirely finalized, there’s a number of things that have just surfaced of which I can share. Here they are:
- Trunk/boxer brief design has been finalized
- A name has been chosen for the line
- Double-sided plush 1.5” waistband has been sourced
- 95% cotton, 5% Spandex fabric is currently being knitted
- Construction details have nearly been ironed out
The Trunk will feature a “love handle friendly” waistband and “no smush zone” front pouch
RibbedTee claims that these are going to be “problem-solving underwear,” but they are not quite ready to share what that means or what problem these undies are going to solve. Whatever it is, Schwarz claims that what they are doing has never been done before. He also claims that the select few who are in the know about this innovation are “as excited about the idea as we are and have said we are on to something really amazing!”
While pricing has yet to be determined, there is a pre-order list you can get on if you want to be the first dude on the block to get into these skivvies, and everyone who gets on the pre-order list will a special discount on their first two pair of underwear.
