One of the new housewives of "The Real Housewives of Orange County" has already been forced to come out in defense of her marriage. In an interview with Star magazine, posted on Friday, April 18, Shannon Beador addressed her husband's arrest for assault and battery that happened two years into their marriage.
After Shannon was confirmed as one of the new housewives but before the new season of the show aired, Radar Online published an article that revealed that Shannon's husband, David, was once arrested and charged with assault and battery. Specifically, the battery charge was one of "battery against a cohabitant." David ended up pleading guilty and went through three years of probation, as well as a treatment program for batterers. While the article did not name Shannon as the victim, many people assumed that that she was.
In her interview with Star, Shannon confirmed that there was an incident between the two that resulted in David being arrested and charged. She denies, however, that he hit her, saying that "there was no abuse, no physical anything." She said that what happened that night was simply a verbal argument that wouldn't end, which caused her to call the police. She maintains that she and David have moved on from the incident.
Shannon Beador and Lizzie Rovsek joined "The Real Housewives of Orange County" after the departures of Gretchen Rossi, Alexis Bellino and Lydia McLaughlin. Season nine of the show also features Danielle Gregorio as a "friend of the housewives." So far, Shannon is known mostly as the housewife with a strong commitment to the all-natural lifestyle. However, the preview for season nine shows that she'll get just as down and dirty as the other housewives when it comes to arguments. At one point, the preview shows her getting so hysterical that even Tamra Barney has to calm her down.
