“The Real Housewives of Orange County” star Lydia McLaughlin knew that the final party of the season would be addressed on the reunion special. Not only did Andy Cohen want to talk about how the women confronted Slade Smiley over his harsh comments, but he also wanted to talk about the confrontation with Ryan Culberson that wasn’t caught on film. However, the microphones caught him yelling at McLaughlin’s mother. According to a new Bravo report published on Aug. 26, “The Real Housewives of Orange County” star McLaughlin is now revealing that she is still shocked over how the final party went down between Ryan and her mother.
“Neither Briana nor Ryan have reached out to me or my mother since this all happened. They haven't apologized in the slightest, even after watching the scene when it aired on TV. "He was stressed out." "He was drinking too much." The reason is irrelevant,” McLaughlin writes in defense of her own mother. And after the episode aired, it did seem like an apology should be issued. But it sounds like nothing was ever done.
When Brooks Ayers came out to address issues with Briana, McLaughlin got up and walked off set. “I had had enough. We had been filming all day. Eight hours of constant drama and negativity! I'm just not used to being around that energy. It's one thing for one of the Housewives to call out another for something petty, but the drama went to a whole different level when Vicki's daughter starting talking about Brooks, a man her mother cares about,” she reveals. Maybe it was a mix of emotions because of her own personal feelings since she didn’t get the apology that she was expecting.
What do you think of McLaughlin walking off the set?
