‘RHONY’ star is suing major company over ripped off products

Many of “The Real Housewives of New York” women have launched businesses using the reality television platform, including Bethenny Frankel’s Skinnygirl business and Sonja Morgan’s toaster oven experiment. However, there is one woman who was popular in the business industry long before the show came along and now she is suing because another company has ripped off her idea. According to a new Fox News report released on March 15, “The Real Housewives of New York” star Heather Thomson is ready to file a lawsuit against Spanx Inc because of some similar products to her Yummy Tummy products.

According to the report, Heather is pointing the finger at Spanx Inc owner Sara Blakely for ripping off her product ideas in terms of her patented control tops. This was a product that Heather created and patented, so Sara could be in for quite the legal battle if the judge believes that Heather has a case behind her. Perhaps Heather went out and bought a Spanx control top to analyze it and found that the product was in violation of her patent.

Heather may not be on the sixth season of the show, but maybe this massive lawsuit against Spanx is something noteworthy for Bravo to film. It sounds like it could lead to some legal trouble. This wouldn’t be the first time that legal fights have been caught on camera, as Phaedra Parks represented Sheree Whitfield in her child support case on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Would you want to watch Heather battle it out on court?
