“The Real Housewives of New York” star Carole Radziwill shared her relationship with rocker Russ Irwin on the show, but he isn’t around this season. In fact, the two have broken up and there seems to be split stories on why this happened. Carole revealed that it was amicable and people assumed it was the distance that did it. However, Russ has a different story. According to a new Radar Online report published on March 13, “The Real Housewives of New York” star Carole Radziwill’s ex-boyfriend is now revealing that she wanted to have an open relationship, while he wanted something more exclusive.

“When I was with Carole, I truly loved her and wanted to be with her, but it got to a tipping point. We wanted different things. It was obvious it wasn’t going to last,” Irwin has revealed. “I told Carole, ‘I’m in love with you. I want to settle down, get married and have a family – and I want to do it with you.’ But her response was, ‘I never want to get married again.’ It’s sad because we had such a special bond.” Of course, Carole is not exactly ready to get married, since she already lost one husband.

And it sounds like she wanted the freedom to see other people, as they had often done when he was on the road. “She wanted an open relationship, which I NEVER wanted. It’s ironic,” he laughed. “She wanted to date other people. She wanted her independence and didn’t want to be tied down to someone she had to check in with every day.” Irwin added that Carole tried to sabotage the relationship.
