“The Real Housewives of New York” star Aviva Drescher may have numerous phobias and fears, but going to the doctor isn’t one of them. She has been going to her check-ups and apparently, she found something last time that required immediate attention. According to a new Bravo report published on Jan. 15, “The Real Housewives of New York” star Aviva Drescher recently had emergency surgery to remove some potential precancerous polyps.

"I had severe asthma this summer. My pulmonologist believed the cause was reflux/gastritis. Something like 80-percent of sudden adult onset of asthma is caused by reflux. After multiple diagnoseses—and anemia—it was suggested to have an endoscopy and colonoscopy even though I am only 43-years-old. Mrs Fraidy pants did it with GI Dr. Albert Knapp. All was clear except one polyp which was called a flat polyp and was precancer. Flat polyps are very hard to find and quite dangerous if not found early. Even in a colonoscopy, flat polyps are hard to see,” she revealed.

Luckily, she had the surgery, which easy and simple for her. She reveals that if she hadn’t gone under the knife, she would most likely have been diagnosed with cancer by the time she was 50. However, it sounds like she feels lucky and can only have a positive attitude about it. "For all those wanting to know what's up my ass? After 2 colonscpy' [sic] in 7 days I can officially say nothing,” she wrote on Twitter.
