Viewers of the "Real Housewives" shows have watched many of the housewives's marriages implode after they joined in as housewives. So how does "The Real Housewives of New York City" housewives Heather Thomson and Kristen Taekman plan on avoiding the divorce curse? In an interview with Celebuzz, posted on Friday, March 7, Heather and Kristen talked about their marriages.
New housewife Kristen, a model friend of Beverly Hills housewife Brandi Glanville, said that she accepts that fighting and bickering is normal and healthy for her and her husband.
"We fight, we bicker...And then towards the end of the season, I decided that our bickering is our personal form of flirting," she said.
“[We] are definitely not going anywhere. I think it’s healthy. And I hope that people appreciate me for showing that. I can’t hide it," she added.
As for Heather, she and her husband remind themselves that their marriage comes first and that it's she, not he, who's on the show.
"I think a lot of the talk and the buzz you hear about the marriages that do fall apart on camera or after filming or being on the show, a lot of those guys are on the show as much as the chicks are. And I think then it becomes ‘what comes first here?’ Is it the TV show that’s most important? Or is it the marriage? And, you know, my marriage comes first and foremost over anything at all," she said.
On her first season of "The Real Housewives of New York City," viewers rarely saw Heather's husband. It sounds as if that won't change for the second season, which premieres Tuesday, March 11. For Kristen, however, it seems from the teasers and her comments that she and her husband have chosen to reveal all about their marriage and for him to be an integral part of her storyline. Hopefully, they don't regret that decision!
Do you think Heather Thomson's and Kristen Taekman's marriages will survive their "Real Housewives" runs?
