Just before Christmas came the announcement that Bethany Frankel and Jason Hoppy had separated. Frankel wasted no time as she has already filed for divorce from her husband of two years according to E! Online’s Jan. 5 report. Happy New Year!
The Skinnygirl founder filed for a summons for divorce in New York City.
When the separation was announced about two weeks ago, Bethany said “It brings me great sadness to say that Jason and I are separating . . . this was an extremely difficult decision that as a woman and a mother, I have to accept as the best choice for our family.”
No single reason has been offered as to why the couple is splitting. The two were often seen bickering on the reality TV show and Frankel has often been called controlling. With the success of Frankel’s other endeavors such as her books and Skinnygirl franchise, there may have been too much on her plate to juggle a successful career with a successful marriage.
Now, the 42-year-old former Housewife is turning to her friends and fans for support. According to posts on Twitter, talk show host Hoda Kotb has been a real lifesaver. Bethany tweeted: "Time with @hodakotb is just what the doctor ordered :)"
She went on to tweet: "To those of you who are being supportive: thank you. To those of you who are judging: I totally get it."
Frankel spent the New Year in Aspen enjoying some down time while Jason spent the time moving out of the couple’s digs.
The soon-to-be exes are parents to 2-year-old Bryn, their daughter, whom they have pledged to put first and foremost going forward.
