“The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Melissa Gorga wanted to share the secrets to her marriage, as her marriage to Joe Gorga came across as the best possible message on the show. However, the two have been dealing with stress from Teresa Giudice and the family drama between them, and this may have affected her book sales. According to a new Wetpaint Entertainment report published on Oct. 8, “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Melissa Gorga’s book sales have unfortunately tanked after the criticism of marital rape.
As soon as the book was released, it started getting some bad reviews because of some passages in the book. And it sounds like “Love Italian Style” isn’t doing well, as it ranked at 3,136 on Amazon.com. In addition, people don’t seem to like the book at all. It has an average rating of two out of five stars, based on 286 customer reviews. It seems to be struggling in comparison to Teresa’s cookbooks.
The passages in the book that is causing some problems have to do with sex. "Every girl wants to get her hair pulled once in a while," Melissa writes in the book. "If your wife says 'no,' turn her around, and rip her clothes off. She wants to be dominated." And she has spoken out about the negative attention. “I’m so disgusted that a reporter has taken things completely out of context simply for shock value. #SAD,” she tweeted last month. “If you’ve read my book, you know that I am promoting mutual love, respect, honesty, and loyalty. #TRUTH.”
What do you think of her sales?
