“The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Melissa Gorga may have been thrilled about publishing her book, “Love Italian Style,” even though she has been super busy with her singing career and doing appearances. However, her book may not have gotten the reception she had hoped for. According to a new Wetpaint Entertainment report published on Sept. 25, “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Melissa Gorga is now responding to rumors that her book is promoting marital rape.
A Jezebel reporter revealed the first impression of some passage in the book, which have now made headlines all over the internet. “It’s very clear that she’s married to a controlling a**hole that barely views her as human, let alone equal,” the reporter wrote on the website. The reporter is referring to the following passage, which is actually written by Joe Gorga. “Men, I know you think your woman isn't the type who wants to be taken. But trust me, she is. Every girl wants to get her hair pulled once in a while. If your wife says "no," turn her around, and rip her clothes off. She wants to be dominated. Women don't realize how easy men are. Just give us what we want.”
The site referenced the passage saying, “That is rape and it is insane that it got past a publisher.” As for Gorga, she doesn’t think that it promotes rape at all. “I’m so disgusted that a reporter has taken things completely out of context simply for shock value. #SAD,” she revealed after learning that some people think that she and her husband are promoting marital rape. “If you’ve read my book, you know that I am promoting mutual love, respect, honesty, and loyalty. #TRUTH.”
Of course, this one cannot be blamed on Teresa Giudice. And one has to wonder how Gorga feels after reading the reviews. What do you think about this passage?
