"Real Housewives of New Jersey" cast members Teresa and Joe Guidice are dealing with another snag in their mounting legal drama. The prosecutors on the Guidice fraud case now want the out takes from the Bravo reality series to use as possible evidence against the pair according to the NY Daily News reports on Sunday, August 18 report.
The Bravo network is now finding their selves drawn in to the couple's legal drama, after being asked by the prosecutors to turn over hours of un-aired footage from "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" tapings.
Sources closely related to the network stated to the site:
“For every hour that airs, there are more than 20 hours of unedited footage. They shoot for three months and end up using only the footage that fits into the story line they want to focus on.”
As previously reported Teresa and Joe Guidice have been indicted on 39 counts of fraud and tax evasion charges. The prosecutors have requested the unaired footage from Bravo in hopes of finding any proof of inappropriate spending.
“The network is not happy,” says NY Daily's source. “Everyone is asking if ‘Housewives’ ruined Teresa. The real question is, will Teresa ruin ‘Housewives’?”
The court date for Teresa and Joe Guidice has been set for October 8, 2013 by U.S. District Judge Esther Salas. Teresa Guidice's lawyer Henry Klingman has claimed that Teresa Guidice has been targeted because she is a celebrity.
“She’s concerned, but she’s taking care of business, taking care of her children, getting ready for school,” he said. “I’m confident we’ll have a really strong defense. I’m confident in her.”
If found guilty Teresa and Joe Guidice could face up to 50-years in prison, but this highly publicized legal battle could also force Bravo network to make a hard decision as to whether or not to keep the troubled couple on the hit reality series "Real Housewives of New Jersey," or to look into the best interest of the show and the rest of the cast and part ways with Teresa and Joe Guidice.
