The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Melissa Gorga wants to change her reputation on the wildly popular reality show. Gorga’s feud with sister-in-law Teresa Giudice has earned her the reputation as a drama-fueled cat fighter.
Gorga wants to turn that image around and be known as a wholesome fan favorite. A source close to Bravo’s hit show revealed that Melissa Gorga, 33, has asked producers to show more scenes of her with her husband, Joe and their three children.
The source stated that it was her nemesis and rival family member Teresa Giudice’s interaction with her crazy family that gained her a massive following of fans. However, on season four, both women spent more time and energy fighting with each other instead of focusing on their families.
The source stated, “Melissa feels that one of the main reasons Teresa became a quick fan favorite was because her relationship with the husband and kids was used as a featured storyline. And with Melissa’s provocative past coming back to haunt her this season, she wants to use her family to play the sympathy card.”
Earlier this month, one of Melissa’s former boyfriends came out and claimed that he and Melissa continued their intimate relationship long after she’d married her husband Joe Gorga. In other words, last season it was strippergate and this season will be her infidelity.
However, with the truth coming to light that Teresa Giudice had a hand in setting Gorga up and trying to hurt her emotionally, it’s hard for fans of the show to believe that there isn’t the possibility that this is just another one of Teresa Giudice’s ruses.
“Melissa was already caught up in the middle of ‘strippergate’ last season, so with the new allegations of cheating coming forward this season she’s trying to figure out a way to clean up her image. What better way than exploiting her home life?”
“She made sure the cameras were there for their family tree-lighting ceremony and on Christmas morning, as well as numerous celebratory brunches.”
The Real Housewives of New Jersey will be tearing up the television screen when the show premieres season five this spring.
