"Real Housewives of Miami" star Marysol Patton has revealed that just before the cast returned to the set to start filming season three her mother suffered a stroke, leading Marysol to believe she would die according to Wet Paint reports on Monday, August 19.
Marysol describe her horror that day saying: .
“My mom’s household staff [...] found her unconscious on the floor of her bedroom. I immediately called 911 and drove over to her home. She was shaking and unable to walk or sit up and her eyes were fixated staring up to left.”
Elsa was rushed to a nearby hospital and was rushed immediately into surgery to relieve the pressure from the blood that had built up in her brain.
Hours later the surgeons talked with Marysol Patton informing her that her mother would be staying in the hospital for some time and had a very long road to recovery.
“I thought she was going to die,” Marysol reveals to RadarOnline.
“It is difficult to describe the hurt and fear that I felt,” she adds in her blog. “If I had not had my company to run and the filming of this season, I would have fallen into a horrible depression.”
Several months later Elsa was finally released from the hospital and able to return home where she’s still in recovery today.
“She has a nurse living with her 24/7,” Marysol explains. “They cook for her. She can’t walk down the stairs without help because we’re afraid she’ll fall.”
Elsa's physicians are still not positive what caused her stroke and believe it may have occurred following the impact when she hit the floor, or it was just going to happen.
What ever the reason the two women have grown closer in their relationship, strengthening the bond between the mother and daughter.
“No matter how much of a pain in the butt your parents can be, you need to spend every moment with them because I almost lost my mom.”
Glad to hear that Elsa s on the road to recovery and that the two women are enjoying the depths of their new found relationship.
