The controversy is heating up at Central Falls High School where every single teacher in the high school is in jeopardy of being fired. The school is considered one of the worst performing in the state of Rhode Island with a 48 percent graduation rate.
According to the teacher’s union, the teachers' $78,000 salary is not enough to get the 74 teachers to agree to some new standards.
Today it was confirmed that all 74 teachers at Central Falls high school were mailed layoff notices.
The letter indicates that Superintendent Fran Gallo is recommending that the teachers' contracts be terminated at the end of the 2010 school year.
On February 23, the District Board of Trustees will vote on the matter and, if approved, all of the teachers will be fired.

haha
If any of the CF teachers are reading this.....
My driveway needs shovelling....
8 bucks an hour....
how's that sound
Wow, Mark---REALLY? Why would a college educated professional want to shovel your driveway for little over minimum wage? Maybe you should get your lazy ass out there and shovel it yourself!!!
Forget the teachers, Cheryl Phillips is hot!
If $78K/yr is not enough, I'm sure there're many others who would jump for the opportunity (for less, even) for such a job. If a teacher can't make ends meet with that salary and has to take a 2nd job, it says a lot about the person's ability to manage their finances. Maybe, they should go back to school and take a course on Personal Finances...
Got something to say?
