School Closings and Snow Days
The blizzard of 2009 is over, and RI is a mess. Record snowfall totals of up to 22 inches crippled the state on Sunday Dec. 20th. School closings, town crews and snow removal services will be busy with the massive clean-up Sunday night and well into Monday, perhaps even as long as Tuesday.
Parking Bans
It goes without saying that parking bans all across the state will be enforced until the clean-up is finished. Towed vehicles and hefty fines will most likely be imposed on cars left in banned areas.
Rhode Island Public School Closings
Some of the schools hardest hit are closed on Monday. These include Barrington, Block Island, Bristol, Cranston, East Providence, Jamestown, Middletown, Narragansett, Newport, Pawtucket, Wakefield, Tiverton and Lincoln. Check back as more school closings may change overnight.
Delayed School Openings
Although many schools are still snowed in and will be closed on Monday, some didn't get the snowfall totals that others got, and will delay opening for an hour or two. Some school delays include Pascoag, Central Falls, Wood River Junct., Coventry, Cumberland, East Greenwich, Johnston, Lincoln, North Kingstown, North Providence, Slatersville, Providence, Esmond, Warwick and Westerly.
Pre-schools and Daycare Closings
Most daycare and pre-school programs in the Rhode Island area are closed all day on Monday, but be sure to check first.
Miscelaneous Closings
Catholic, Vo-Tech and Charter School Closings, Government Offices Closings, Health Services, Religious Services and Business Closings and Massachusetts School Closings are too numerous to list here. Meals on Wheels seem to be the most affected to close down, and elderly meals won't be served in those cities.

The list of closings and delays continually updates itself, so if you don't see your school or business on the list at the present, be sure to check the website for a current update.
