At the Providence, Rhode Island High School girls soccer team state championship game a fight broke out among the female players on Sunday night. The two teams were playing in the state finals, when one girl shoved another and that started an all team fight and ended with one of the girls dragging another across the soccer field by her hair. Later, a fight broke out in the crowd during the same girls soccer game. Why is there so much violence in women’s soccer all of the sudden? See the video below.
The BYU vs. New Mexico women’s soccer game from last Thursday has been all over the internet over the past few days. Elizabeth Lambert took several shots at members of the BYU game during their championship game. BYU won 1-0.
Elizabeth Lambert was indefinitely suspended from playing any sport at New Mexico University because of these shots. The story was even televised on The Today Show on Monday. Ever since Elizabeth Lambert was suspended, everyone has been searching the internet for the video and leaving comments with their personal opinion...making violence in women's sports a hot topic. Why the violence? These are young girls playing the sport they love, and should be setting an example for the younger girls who want to emulate them. Are they that upset that they are losing?
