Verdi Productions (VP) has announced that its film Loosies, will premiere on January 11 at the IFC Center in New York City, with other locations to follow.
Loosies, which was filmed in Providence and New York City, is being released through IFC films and will expand to over 50 million homes on Video on Demand, as well as iTunes and the SundanceNow website.
Additionally, Loosies has secured over 24 overseas territories and the VP crew will soon head to Berlin and Cannes Film Festivals in early 2012 for a final sales push.
“Everyone at VP has worked very hard to make this all happen and the hard work is paying off,” said VP founder and CEO Chad A. Verdi.
Loosies tells the story of Bobby (Peter Facinelli, Twilight), a charming NYC pickpocket who is forced to reevaluate his life of crime when he runs into his former-one-night-stand Lucy (Jamie Alexander, Thor), who is now pregnant.
The film co-stars Michael Madsen (Kill Bill, Infected), Vincent Gallo (Buffalo ’66, Tetro), Joe Pantoliano (Memento, The Matrix) and William Forsythe (The Devil’s Rejects, The Rock).
The Rhode Island-based movie also features local actors Tom Paolino (Inkubus, Infected), Tom DeNucci (Inkubus, Infected) and Cranston-born director Michael Corrente (American Buffalo, Brooklyn Rules).
Aside from a stellar cast, Loosies features an original soundtrack composed by Chad Fischer (Garden State, Scrubs) and performed by American Idol Season 10 contestant Paul McDonald.
