A Rhode Island family has been desperately searching for their dog, Oisin (pronounced A-sheen), since he went missing on January 12.

Oisin, an un-neutered 50-pound English Yellow Lab, now eight months old, is microchipped. He was let out with the family’s other dog in their backyard on Widow Sweets Road, and they haven't seen him since.

Kathleen and John Burke have plastered the area with posters and have used a pet psychic and tracking dogs to aid in their search, but to no avail. His scent was lost at the front of the property, near the street, which leads them to believe that Oisin may have been picked up by a passerby.

Oisin has become a wonderful valued companion and friend to the Burke's daughter, Selina, who is on oxygen 75% of the time. She describes him as "very mellow. Although he was extremely affectionate too and loving and he was just a good friend.”

They are hoping that with help from family, friends, social media, and caring animal lovers, word will reach someone who may have seen Oisin or know of his whereabouts.

Burke tells NBC:

"We're appealing to your viewers and animal lovers out there to kindly bring the dog into an animal shelter or veterinary hospital. We've made arrangements with all of the hospitals to accept the dog and your identity will remain confidential."

You can also call the phone numbers listed on the flier. They are offering a $2,000 reward for his safe return - no questions asked. Their only concern is being reunited with Oisin.

Please share, especially with family and friends in Rhode Island, because sharing helps reunite pets with their families. Yours could be the one to bring Oisin home.
