Could NeNe Leakes go from reality TV star to talk show host who interviews reality TV stars? She seems to think it should happen. On Friday, June 20, the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star posted a tweet that hinted that fans may very well see her humoring a live studio audience in the future.
When a fan tweeted that NeNe needs her own talk show because she "keeps it so real," NeNe retweeted the tweet and added, "Keep ur eyes open." NeNe's tweet seems to indicate that fans should be ready to see her holding the mic real soon.
If NeNe does get her own talk show, she won't be the first housewife to do so. Bethenny Frankel, who starred on "The Real Housewives of New York City" for the first three seasons, parlayed her reality TV fame into her own nationally syndicated talk show, "Bethenny," which premiered in September of 2013. Not forgetting her roots, Bethenny frequently had women from the franchise on her show.
NeNe herself was a guest on Bethenny's show in September, during which she talked about former co-star Kim Zolciak, plastic surgery and prenups. Hopefully, if and when NeNe does get her own talk show, hers will do better than Bethenny's. It was announced in February of 2014 that her talk show was canceled because of low ratings.
Until she becomes a talk show host, NeNe will just have to battle it out with the other stars of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." She confirmed in late May that all of the women from season six, which besides herself includes Cynthia Bailey, Kenya Moore, Kandi Burruss, Phaedra Parks, and Porsha Williams, have been invited back for season seven. The show's season six delivered record ratings for Bravo and the network rightfully decided to not change something that isn't broken.
Some of the storylines that will likely draw the viewers in for season include the aftermath of Porsha Williams's attack on Kenya Moore on season six's reunion show, Phaedra Parks dealing with the legal consequences of her husband Apollo Nida's crimes and the possible reconciliation, or further demise, of NeNe Leakes' friendship with Cynthia Bailey.
