“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kenya Moore wanted to do something nice on the previous episode of the show, so she wanted to have a party where the proceeds would go to a charity, Saving Our Daughters. It is a charity that NeNe Leakes has worked with, so Kenya decided to make NeNe the guest of honor. And while the drama did take away from the charity itself, the charity has been making headlines since the episode aired. According to a new Radar Online report published on Feb. 20, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kenya Moore is now being mentioned in some tax issues because she helped get the charity some exposure on the show.

Kenya may not have known about the tax issues when she brought the charity onto the show. Apparently, the charity has had their tax-exempt status revoked by the IRS for withholding information about their finances. Back in 2009, the charity stopped filing tax returns. Last May, their tax-exempt organization was automatically revoked by the IRS.

Apparently, the charity hasn’t been good at using the funds for good. Back in 2009, the charity used a mere $10,000 of their $108,233 revenue for grants. The head of the charity gave himself a salary about three times that. The year before that, the charity only gave away $10,500 out of $84,874. If that wasn’t sketchy enough, the charity denies getting money from Kenya’s party that was shown on the show.

“Ms. Kenya Moore stated that thousands of dollars were raised at this event. To protect the integrity of Saving Our Daughters, our records show that we did not receive any of the proceeds raised from Ms. Moore’s masquerade ball,” the statement reads from the CEO and founder. “However, we do appreciate the contribution we did receive of $500 for our annual Christmas doll drive for children with cancer.” However, Kenya was ready to fight. “I have video proof more check copies and a contract too so [please] do not come for me unless I send for you,” Kenya tweeted shortly after the charity accused her of not making any donation. “#dropsmicrophone #grabsbible2pray4u.”

Do you think that Kenya cheated the charity or the charity lying about Kenya?
