‘RHOA’ star Apollo Nida to delay trial in fraud case as he needs more time

“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Apollo Nida’s image seems to be shattering rather fast. Not only did he beat up Kenya Moore’s friend, Brandon DeShazer, while filming the show and then lied about what happened to his wife, Phaedra Parks, but he has also been charged with identity theft, bank fraud and conspiracy this past month. According to a new Wetpaint Entertainment report published on Feb. 11, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Apollo Nida is now asking for more time to figure out his defense in this fraud trial.

According to new court papers, Apollo is trying to push back the trial date as much as possible so he can get more time to prepare himself. He filed a request on February 10, specifically asking to delay the trial “up to and including March 25, 2014.” This would give him about a month and a half to prepare his defense.

Apollo’s plea cites the need to give “the parties sufficient time to discuss a potential resolution of this case” (i.e. a settlement). In technical terms, he revealed that he needs time to figure out what he wants to do. He could settle or he could head to trial. Perhaps, he is getting some advice from Phaedra Parks. She is not involved in the case and hopefully, she can stay out of it and focus on her children.

What do you think of Apollo asking for more time?
