The clock is ticking for "RHOA" husband Apollo Nida. Earlier in the year he was convicted of money laundering and fraud among other things. According to Radar Online on Wednesday, Apollo Nida must turn himself in by noon on September 10 to begin serving his eight year sentence.
Apollo will be reporting to FMC Lexington Prison in Lexington, Kentucky in less than two weeks. Some wonder if his wife Phaedra Parks will be there. Most speculate that she might skip this appearance just as she did not show up when Apollo was sentenced. When asked about the sentencing hearing and Phaedra's absence he said, "My wife didn’t even fu**ing show up for my sentencing. I’m still kind of salty about that."
On that same note, it's not looking so good for Phaedra and Apollo's marriage. Even Apollo has said that he doesn't believe their marriage will last through his eight year prison sentence. During filming for season seven of "Real Housewives of Atlanta," Phaedra avoided scenes where Apollo would be present.
Apollo Nida originally faced up to 30 years in prison for his part in a financial scheme that included opening fake businesses and applying for loans in other people's names. He is also responsible for paying back $1.9 million in restitution.
The saddest part of this whole situation is that he won't be around to watch his sons grow up. Eight years is a long time to be away from children. Even Apollo has said that is the part of this whole prison sentence that he regrets the most.
