RHOA: Apollo goes to jail on racketeering charges

Apollo was arrested on charges of bank fraud and identity theft this past Thursday, January 24, 2014 and was released the next day on bond, according to Rolling Out. This is Apollo’s second run-in with the law. Previously Apollo Nida served time back in 2004 for fraud involving illegal car titles. He was later released in 2009 and married Phaedra Parks the same year just a few short months prior to welcoming their first son Ayden.

The couple just recently purchased a large home in Buckhead, a pricey suburb in Atlanta, where they are raising two boys. Phaedra Parks is known to keep herself busy with multiple jobs and businesses. Her primary job as a lawyer has taken a backseat on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, whereas her stun gun business and future funeral home service has been the recent topics of discussion.

Maybe Phaedra can refer a good lawyer to help Apollo with his legal troubles. Allegedly he and a business partner were working to assist people with collecting unclaimed tax money. Phaedra unsuccessfully attempted to explain his shady career on an episode of Watch What Happens Live a couple of years ago when probed by the host Andy Cohen. Phaedra’s answer seemed to confuse Andy and the viewers even more making it even more suspicious. Is it possible Phaedra knew what Apollo was mixed up in?

Apollo has been under investigation for some time now. According to TMZ he’s allegedly being accused of opening bank accounts in the names of his victims and depositing their treasury checks and retirement checks. Will Phaedra be able to stick with Apollo through these troubling times? If this is true, what made Apollo think he could get away with this being a high-profile reality star? Maybe Apollo will be able to explain himself on the reunion show…if he shows up.
