RFK Jr., Conor Kennedy and Daryl Hannah arrested in KXL protest

Robert F. Kennedy and his son Conor Kennedy were among the many that were arrested on Wednesday due to attaching themselves to the White House gates. According to Politico on Feb. 13, the Kennedy's were protesting against the Keystone XL oil pipeline.

Along with the Kennedys, Bill McKibben, Michael Brune and actress Daryl Hannah were some of the big names that were also arrested. Hannah was arrested in October and August 2011 for other Keystone pipeline protests.

There were a total of 48 activists that attached themselves to the White House gates and then were arrested after they refused to move when the officers told them to.

RFK, Jr. was participating due to believing there are better sources of energy than the Canadian oil sands. Unfortunately the American Petroleum Institute CEO Jack Gerard thinks more Americans will welcome the pipeline as well as the fuel and jobs it would provide.

Do you think the big names like Robert Kennedy, Jr., Connor Kennedy and Daryl Hannah will help to stop the Keystone XL oil pipeline? Sound off in comments below.
