RFK Jr. was arrested along with his son, Conor Kennedy, former boyfriend of singer Taylor Swift, on Wednesday for protesting the Keystone XL pipeline, the Inquisitor reported on Feb. 13.
According to the report, RFK Jr. and Conor Kennedy were put in handcuffs, alongside actress Daryl Hannah, and several other environmental activists for civil disobedience for protesting the Keystone XL pipeline.
This isn’t the first time that RFK Jr. has been arrested. In 2001, Conor Kennedy’s father served 30 days in jail for trespassing as part of a protest against Navy bombing in Puerto Rico.
“It’s unfortunate that civil disobedience is the only recourse against a catastrophic and criminal enterprise that will enrich a few while impoverishing the rest of humanity and threatening the future of civilization,” Robert Kennedy Jr. said in a statement after his latest arrest.
