I love the Perfecto vitola. It's a great looking shape for a cigar, in my opinion. The Reyes Family Premier Perfecto is one big cigar. The wrapper is a little rough looking so I can't really say it's beautiful but, I'll give it good looking.
As you would expect for a maduro, the wrapper is a natural dark brown that is relatively uniform in color. During my pre-light inspection, the cigar itself felt a little on the spongy side. I smelled a sweet chocolate aroma coming off the wrapper and a slight ammonia / barnyard aroma coming from the foot.
There is no need to clip this perfecto as there is no cap. The "cap" is tapered more than the foot and produced a nice, easy draw. I tasted a sweet flavor on my lips and a full tobacco flavor during the pre-light draw.
The first third of the cigar started off very mild with a bittersweet chocolate flavor. The burn was even with a firm, white ash. The Perfecto produced a good amount smoke.
During the second third of the cigar, some spice came into the picture during the exhale and the overall strength of the cigar intensified. The cigar burned with an even but jagged line. Major flavors that I picked up on were coffee and wood. The white ash fell off about halfway through the cigar.
Moving into the final third of the Ryesy Family Premier Perfecto, I needed to give the smoke a touch up. The spice that appeared during the second half had disappeared. The coffee and wood flavors remained to the end.
This was a very enjoyable cigar that I would recommend to anybody looking for a medium bodied / medium strength maduro cigar.
