'Rewrapped' has to recreate Utz’s Pretzel Rods on Food Network

Tonight's Food Network episode of “Rewrapped” gave three chefs a chance to recreate Utz’s Pretzel Rods, a snack food nearly everyone in America has tasted. As Joey Fatone hosts the show, he introduces the chefs on this episode titled, “That Makes Two of Utz!”

The chefs competing tonight are; Janice Hardgrove, owner of Peace, Love & Cupcakes in Woodstock, N.Y., Jeremy Noffke, head chef of the New South Restaurant Group and Rachel Crampsey owner and head baker at Montclair Bread Company in Montclair, N.J.

The judges are; head judge and snack food King Marc Summers, Utz’s Technical Services Manager, Molly Mancini and host of Food Network’s The Kitchen, Jeff Mauro.

For the first round, the chefs had to recreate those delicious pretzels and will be judged on taste and appearance. Rachel scored 21, Jeremy scored 18 and Janice scored 16.

The innovate challenge was based on taste, appearance and creativity using the pretzels. Rachel made a chocolate caramel pretzel tart, Jeremy made pretzel fried chicken with Welsh rarebit sauce, and Janice made pretzel hippie chippers cookie sandwiches.

The judges gave Rachel a score of 14; Jeremy received 18 and Janice received 28 for a total of 44, a year’s supply of Utz Pretzel Rods and the title of Rewrapped Champion on this episode of “Rewrapped.”
