Tonight's Food Network episode of “Rewrapped” gave three chefs a chance to recreate Tastykake Butterscotch Krimpet, a delicious snack food; that lovers of sweets have enjoyed for years. As Joey Fatone hosts the show, he introduces the chefs on this episode titled, “Now Krimpet! Krimpet Good!” What is your favorite flavor of these delicious cookies?
The chefs competing tonight are; food stylist at Plated.Com, Jared Levan, Toni Walton, owner of Sweet T’s Bakeshop in Haddonfield, N.J., and Clint Compton, executive chef at Big Sam’s Inlet Café and Raw Bar in Virginia Beach.
The judges are; head judge and snack food King Marc Summers, Jenny McCoy, pastry chef and cookbook author and Shelley McDonough, R&D Supervisor at Tasty Baking Company.
For the first round, the chefs had to recreate those delicious cakes. As the chefs feverishly work to recreate these cakes, with the unusual shape.
Jared scored 17, Toni scored 23 and Clint scored 17.
This innovate challenge was based on taste, appearance and creativity using the cakes. Jared made Krimpet Fried Chicken with Savory Waffle. Clint made Butterscotch Mahi with Beurre Blanc and Croquettes. Toni made Salted Butterscotch Caramel Bourbon Bar.
The judges gave Jared a score of 21, Toni received a score of 22, and Clint scored 28 tying him with Toni. The judges broke the tie and gave the winning score to Clint Compton, who won a year’s supply of Tastykake Butterscotch Krimpets and the title of Rewrapped Champion on this episode of “Rewrapped.”
