Tonight's Food Network episode of “Rewrapped” gave three chefs a chance to recreate a staple of food shelves everywhere, Is there anyone out there who has never savored this treat? As Joey Fatone hosts the show, he introduces the chefs on this episode titled, “Who You Callin’ a Cupcake?”

The chefs competing tonight are; Keisha Jenkins-Duffy blogger of, Ron Bzdewka, the owner of House of Cupcakes in Princeton, N.J. and Arlen Gargagliano, chef and owner of Mambo 64 in Tuckahoe, N.Y.

When Hostess halted production of their iconic chocolate cupcakes with the seven squiggles on top, they sold for as much as $350 a box on Ebay. Now back on the shelves, these treats are again gracing the homes of those who have loved them for their entire lives.

The judges are; head judge and snack food king Marc Summers, dessert and confection expert Jackie Sorkin and the manager of consumer affairs for Hostess, Nichole Lipari.

For the first round, the chefs had to recreate from scratch, this food that kids and adults have loved forever. The judges will give points based on taste and appearance. For the second round, they must innovate, using the cupcakes as an ingredient making a completely original dish.

For round one, they had thirty minutes. They immediately ran for the cupboard for the ingredients. Arlen had many problems with the mixer and her cupcakes were last in the oven, Keisha and Ron had an easier time, but Ron’s were beautifully recreated. Keisha scored 19, Ron’s looked like the original but the taste was more gourmet and he scored 26. Arlen’s was nearly a disaster by the looks, but Marc said the taste was great, she scored 19.

The innovate challenge was based on taste, appearance and creativity using the cupcakes in 30 minutes. Keisha made a Hostess Cupcake Pop, Ron made a breakfast items he called a Chocolate Cookie Waffle with Tequila infused Hostess Cupcake Filling. Arlen made Hostess Cupcake Chicken Mole and Cupcake Cream Coquito.

As the recipes were progressing, Keisha looked over at Arlen’s station and saw the chicken and wondered if she went creative enough, while Ron was having a difficult time with the waffle iron. When time was up, they faced the judges.

The judges gave Arlen a score of 28; Keisha received a score of 26, and Ron received 19 and with the combined score of 47, Arlen won a year’s supply of Hostess Cupcakes and the title of Rewrapped Champion on this episode of “Rewrapped.”
