"The Humane Society of the United States [HSUS] is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the starvation and death of a young pit bull-type dog. The HSUS reward is in addition to a reward offered by Cuse Pit Crew, raising the total reward offered to $6,000,” starts the press release by the HSUS, dated October 25, 2013.
Posthumously named Jax, the tan and white, male Pit Bull was found on October 22, between two dumpsters on Smith Lane in Syracuse, NY. Emaciated beyond belief, he only weighed 13 pounds. The cause of his death was starvation.
The Syracuse Police Department is in charge of investigating the case and asking anyone with information to call their animal abuse tip line at 315-442-5336.
