One can hardly catch their breath thinking of the agony a two-year-old dalmatian mix dog must have endured as her two rear legs turned gangrenous and then dropped off and left abandoned last Saturday morning at the Macklind Ave. Humane Society of Missouri reports STLtoday.com.
The female dalmatian was named Pepper by the staff. A $1,000 reward has been offered by the Humane Society of Missouri for information leading to the identity of the dog's owner.
Pepper's rear legs had been infected for weeks, and the dog had chewed off her right rear paw instinctively trying to remove the dying tissue. Her left rear paw had bone exposed also.
Sadly, Pepper was in excruciating pain, and injuries were too severe. Staff veterinarians had to make the difficult decision to humanely euthanize.
Let's help to find justice for Pepper by finding the person who allowed this dog to wind up in such horrible condition. Please report any information as to Pepper's owner to the Humane Society of Missouri Animal Cruelty Task Force by calling (314) 647-4400.
