Harvard, IL - A young dog, estimated to be about 1 year of age, was found abandoned in a cage in a garage on December 7. The dog, a Pit bull or Pit bull mix, was severely neglected and had to be euthanized.
The young, neglected dog was discovered by the McHenry County animal control in a cage that was containing drywall debris and blankets. The dog was discovered near the 8500 block of Ferris Road in Harvard.
A $1000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for this crime. Anyone with information is asked to phone the McHenry County Sheriff's Office at (815) 338-2144 or Crimestoppers at (815) 762-7867.

There are no details currently offered about the length of time that the dog appeared to have been abandoned in the garage - whether or not the dog was dumped there or if someone had been keeping him there and then they subsequently left. That has got to be the most disheartening thing I have heard today. What is wrong with people today that they think they need to take out their anger or whatever on a poor defenseless animal.
This just makes me sick. And those SOB's who do this to animals should rot in HELL!

I sure hope that catch whom ever did this to that innocent dog. Poor thing, may he rest in peace.

This is another horrendous act of animal cruelty. I can't imagine what went through the Pittie's mind as he was starving to death, wondering what he had done wrong and why his person wasn't coming back. RIP little sweetie. I pray they find who did this to you.
