Friends and family members of Sandra Lee Loepp have increased the reward for a solution to her hit-and-run case by $4,000, for a total of $6,500. The increase was announced Monday afternoon by Crime Stoppers.
Loepp, a 37-year-old wife and mother, was brutally run down by an unknown motorist early Sunday, December 16.
The Washington Township woman had been socializing with friends at Santino’s Bar when, at about 1:00 a.m. she decided to walk home.
Loepp was about half a mile from the bar along Old Van Dyke when she was struck.
Police say she was dragged about one-eighth of a mile when the driver pulled into the parking lot of a trailer park and removed her from the vehicle. The driver then fled the scene.
Loepp’s body was found in the Washington Trailer Park, near Van Dyke and 28 Mile Road, by a motorist at about 8:20 a.m. the same morning.
Police believe public tips could be crucial in solving the case. They are also contacting bump shops about vehicles brought in with front end damage.
Anyone having information relevant to the homicide is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (800) SPEAK UP.
