After ripping off a seven-game winning streak early in the second half of the season, the Bridgeport Bluefish dropped their second straight game to the York Revolution, 5-3, before 1,694 fans at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport.
After the Bluefish jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on back-to-back doubles by Andres Perez and Steve Moss in the bottom of the first, the Revolution struck back quickly with two runs in the top of the second on a solo home run by Chris Nowak and an RBI single from Liu Rodriguez.
The ’Fish knotted the score at 2-2 with a two-out rally in the bottom of the fifth on a walk by Moss, who was driven home on double by Wes Bankston.
The Revolution responded in the top of the seventh when Chris Walker laced a two-run triple to left center, giving York a 4-2 advantage. Bridgeport cut the lead on 4-3 after Bankston stroked his league-leading 18th home run of the season in the bottom of the eighth, but York added an insurance run in the top of the ninth to give the Revolution their final margin of victory.
Jesus Sanchez (1-1) allowed two runs in six innings and picked up the win for the Revolution, who improved to 9-6 in the second half (45-33 overall). Mike Pike (7-3) gave up four runs in seven innings and was tagged with the loss for the Bluefish, who fell to 8-5 in the second half (40-36 overall).
The ’Fish now hit the road for a three-game weekend set with the Somerset (N.J.) Patriots beginning Saturday night. First pitch is at 7:05, and the game can be heard on www.bridgeportbluefish.com.

- Last week, the Bluefish found out that they would have another natural geographic rival when the Atlantic League announced they would be expanding into Nassau County as part of the New Coliseum development. Frank Bolton, who owns both the Long Island Ducks and the Bluefish as well as being CEO of the league, heads up the group who will bring a second Atlantic League team to Long Island.
