Revolution to visit indoor soccer centers on Turf Tour

On Jan. 30, the New England Revolution announced that players will visit five local indoor soccer centers in the 2013 Turf Tour to promote its home opener at Gillette Stadium on Saturday, March 23.

Each Turf Tour visit will contain two portions: a soccer clinic for a preselected group of local children and a meet-and-greet opportunity with an open-to-the-public Q&A and an autograph session.

The Turf Tour begins on Friday, Feb. 1, at the Wide World of Indoor Sports in North Kingstown, R.I., and continues at Forekicks, Jungleplex, Champions Sports Center and Kroc Center.

The clinic will be run by Revolution Academy coaches and feature Revolution players as celebrity coaches. Following the clinic, the players will meet with fans and pose for photos and sign autographs for those in attendance. The Revolution’s mascot, Slyde, will also be at each event.

Pub tour

Revolution players are also staging an official Pub Tour on Feb. 3-5. In the Pub Tour, players will visit local pubs Phoenix Landing, The Banshee, and Ri Ra Irish Pub in Providence, RI, to meet and greet soccer fans.
