Revolution roughs up Seattle

The Seattle Sounders FC (7-3-1 22pts) suffered a shocking 5-0 defeat to New England Revolution (5-3-2 17pts) in Gillette Stadium. The 5-0 defeats was the worst loss in MLS history for FC Sounders. The loss to the Revolution was a simple case of the Sounders being too aggressive and paying the price for leaving the back line vulnerable. When you have the leagues best offense an old school strategy of counter attack against the run of play when you get the ball can pay dividends as shown on Sunday by the Revolution. “ It was just one of those days, we had more of the game in the first 15 minutes, but we got caught pushing to many guys up front, Sounder FC coach Sigi Schmid said after the game. The Revolution scored four first half goals and there fifth was an own goal with one minute gone in the second half. The loss still leaves the FC Sounders first place in the Western Conference, while the Revolution remained tied for top spot in the Eastern Conference with Sporting Kansas City.
