The New England Revolution and Kraft Sports Productions have added yet another alumnus, former goalkeeper Jeff Causey, to join play-by-play announcer Brad Feldman as color analyst in the broadcast booth for locally televised Revolution games in 2012.
Although 89 MLS games will be nationally broadcast by NBC, ESPN and their affiliates in 2012, no Revolution home games will be nationally televised in English. One Revolution home game will be nationally televised, but it will be broadcast by Galavision in Spanish (home vs. NYRB) and only three away games will be nationally televised. Feldman and Causey will do all the live reporting for the Revolution's home games in 2012, becoming the exclusive local voice.
In 2012, Damon Amendolara of 98.5 The Sports Hub will return on the sidelines at Revolution home games for his third season.
Former defender Jay Heaps, recently promoted to head coach, served as color analyst in 2011.
Kraft Sports Productions produces all non-nationally televised Revolution games. Kraft Sports Productions is a subsidiary of the Kraft Sports Group and under Executive Producer Matt Smith, KSP Director Dave Mondillo and Feldman, the Revolution’s Supervising Producer.
Brad Feldman
Although Revolution president Brian Bilello said, “Brad is one of the most well-respected broadcasters in American soccer,” Feldman is also known as one of the "homers" in MLS, often calling games with bias for the Revolution side.
Feldman is entering his 12th season as a Revolution broadcaster, having called almost 400 matches involving the club. This season marks his eighth as the primary play-by-play announcer for the team’s broadcasts, both on television and on radio. Feldman is the Supervising Producer for all Revolution telecasts, heading each match broadcast – including content, operations and production.
Feldman’s resume includes play-by-play commentary for European competitions on ESPN International and Setanta Sports and announcing MLS, USL and college matches on FOX Soccer. He began his MLS broadcasting career as a sideline reporter for the Kansas City Wizards telecasts in 1999.
Jeff Causey
Causey will provide color commentary for a majority of the 31 matches produced by KSP this season. Causey joined the Revolution 1997, and made 89 appearances in goal during his six-year stint with the club. He began his MLS career in 1996 with D.C. United, helping the club win the inaugural MLS Cup and the 1996 U.S. Open Cup.
Following his retirement from soccer in 2002, Causey first joined the coaching staff at Maryland and in 2003, became assistant coach with the Boston Breakers of WUSA under then-head coach Pia Sundhage. Causey holds a USSF “B” License and is currently an Assistant Vice President at Citizens Investment Services.
