Revisiting Doors videos with a twist

Today we’re catching up on some old subjects but with an interesting spin on them.

Live at the Bowl ‘68 - The Doors concert video of “Live at the Bowl ‘68” will be shown at the Egyptian Theatre (6712 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood, California) Wednesday August 13 at 7:30 pm. The evening will start with a slideshow presentation by Henry Diltz, who is probably most famous for his iconic photographs for the “Morrison Hotel” album. Diltz will be showing pictures of The Doors as well as other L.A. rock bands. “Live at the Bowl ‘68” will start at 8 pm. “Live at the Bowl ‘68” is part of a series featuring rock ‘n’ roll movies for more information please visit the Egyptian Theatre’s website, tickets are available at Fandango.

The Doors R-Evolution - an interview with John Densmore in Goldmine Magazine was published, while it revolves around January’s DVD release of “The Doors R-Evolution” Densmore does get into some future projects he’s involved in. While there’s still nothing solid about a reunion with Robby Krieger for a Ray Manzarek tribute concert, Densmore did mention the possibility of a Black Friday or Record Store Day release of a “Ghost Song” from an “American Prayer” and the Peter LaFarge cover of “Drums” Densmore did a couple of years ago (see related articles below). The most interesting thing about this release is Densmore is hoping for Shepard Fairey to do the jacket cover of the release. You can read the full interview “Drummer John Densmore Revisits his Past with The Doors” at Goldmine Magazine.

Shaman’s Blues - Denise Sullivan’s book “Shaman’s Blues” is back on track and has a September 1 release date. “Shaman’s Blues” is about the “art and influences of Jim Morrison and The Doors” we’ll have a review of it about a week prior to its release. If you would like to pre-order the book you can at Amazon.
