The days of going to just a couple of doctors (probably a dentist and a general practitioner) are long gone. Now, thanks to the discipline of specialization, it's not uncommon for folks to visit a handful of doctors every year. While doctors do keep patient profiles that list what medicines that their clients take, it's easy to lose track of what their patients are taking - a particular concern when prescribing additional medicine for them.
So it's not surprising to read that close to two million folks annually are adversely affected by the combination of medicines they ingest. A Vallejo clinic is offering free medicine analysis and, for folks who regularly take an eclectic mix of meds, or have some questions about their meds, make it over to Touro University's student-run free clinic ASAP!
Every Thursday night at the Norman C. King Community Center there are pharmacy students on hand who will review your medications and answer questions you may have about your meds. Additionally the Clinic's website lists other benefits they offer, such as recommending the best time of the day to take your meds, discussing the safe use of over-the-counter products and advising about dealing with side effects.
It's a great deal and all you need to do is pick up the phone and call for an appointment or use their online appointment form. You can also drop by the Clinic on Thursday night where students see patients on a first come-first served basis.
