Almost directly across the street from The Hemp and Cannabis Foundation, Zoo Mountain Natural Care (ZMNC) maintain an office in a funny looking building on the corner of Orange and Front street that dispenses cannabis 6 days a week, from 10 am until 6 pm. On February 21st at around 2:30, I stopped by to talk to a caregiver and pick up some of their best medical marijuana, and here are my results.

The most important factors that I look for in a good dispensary are price, product, storefront, and staff.

Price: (Correction) 4 1/2 Stars: After speaking with the owner Logan Head, I discovered that I was wrongly informed about the price changes; in fact, the prices started at $225 per ounce, then rose to $250 per ounce (and Mr. Head assures me prices will decline again once overhead costs are covered). Although ZMNC can't get a 5 due to their inability to process checks or credit cards, they do get 4 1/2 stars for a very affordable, quality pricing range.

Product: 4 Stars: The bag of PermaFrost that I sampled was the sexiest looking among the 2-4 strains that were available when I stopped by; one of the caregivers told me that they try to keep 4-6 strains on hand at any given time, but due to the high volume of patients that come for their medicine in the morning, two were gone. White crystals (trichome glands) covered the surface of the PermaFrost like, well, permafrost! The high was soaring and impressive, however their other strains like Aeota and their Headband Kush performed slightly below expectations, and the really top grade strains like Chocolate Trip were only available for sale in very limited quantities. They’ve got some good herb, but they don’t sell cannabis food or hash anymore, and the variety is limiting them to 4 stars.

Storefront: 5 Stars: No bells and whistles here, just a private storefront inside a nondescript building with multiple offices and an organized staff. This place runs like a genuine business with a waiting room, private cannabis showing area, consultation rooms, and individual caregiver offices. Very professionally done, providing them a very professional score of 5 stars for comfort and accessibility.

Staff: 5 Stars: Since I’d walked to ZMNC before the afternoon rush, caregiver Logan Head enticed me into trying some of their cannabis from a vaporizer while he talked about his operation and their products at length, without even knowing of my status as a reviewer for Examiner.com! The staff at ZMNC is comprised of three caregivers (Max McGlauphlin, Brian Chilcott, and Logan Head) as well as two assistants (Tayln Lang and Ashley Miller), who are all quite friendly and knowledgeable about their products.

Out of 20 available stars, ZMNC got 18 ½ ; I would certainly recommend this establishment to a friend and I will probably stop by again soon.

Yep, Zoo Mountain simply is the best. They consistently go out of their way to ensure the highest quality care!!!! I have to disagree with Mr. Nevas about the quality of their buds, however- they consistently have dank weed. All the time. They rarely have less the 5 or 6 strains available, and they always have a nice blend between sativas and indicas. My reccomendation? Bubba Kush, Chocolate Trip, Mango, and The Purpz.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, but I hope you haven't caused any problems for them, as it is illegal for them to dispense to anyone for whom they are not a caregiver.

Thanks Sue/GreenHeart I had a great time at Zoo Mountain, and I am touched by your concern for their well-being; you can sleep at peace ease now, knowing that I changed caregivers to Logan Head before I purchased anything. In fact, I change caregivers every time I need to review a new place! Check out my other articles for more information- Thanks for the comments everyone!
