Maria Thomas was a calligrapher and illustrator before being known for the Zentangle process. It is her illustrations that bring such depth to the pages. This book was written with a passion that Maria and Rick share both for each other and for their work. They tell the stories of how they came to develop the Zentangle system and how it became a passion to share the process with others.
Truely the many, many stories of the lives that have been touched by this simple, but elegant system is the true gift of this book. To understand that gift one must first experience the process that has become Zentangle. Although discussed in the book and in the various other books describing the process of Zentangle, Maria and Rick encourage everyone to take a class with a certified teacher.
